Frequently Asked Questions
Navigating mental health care can bring up a lot of questions, and we’re here to make the process as simple and supportive as possible. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our services, telehealth visits, evaluations, and treatment options.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. All appointments at McNames Mental Health are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. You can connect from your home, office, or any private space using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your initial psychiatric evaluation typically lasts 45–60 minutes. We will discuss your symptoms, medical and mental-health history, current challenges, and treatment goals. Together, we’ll identify the best path forward, which may include therapy recommendations, medication options, lifestyle strategies, or further assessment such as ADHD testing.
How does ADHD testing work?
We use Continuous Performance Testing (CPT)—an evidence-based tool that measures attention, focus, and impulse control. The test is completed remotely, followed by a comprehensive clinical interview and history review. Once results are interpreted, you’ll receive a clear summary and personalized recommendations. If appropriate, we will discuss treatment options.
Do you prescribe medication?
Yes. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Albert can assess your needs and prescribe medication when clinically appropriate. Medication management includes follow-up visits, progress monitoring, dosage adjustments, and ongoing communication for your safety and well-being.
What conditions do you treat?
We provide support for a variety of mental health concerns, including:
ADHD (testing & treatment)
Anxiety
Depression
Insomnia
Mood and stress-related conditions
Life transitions
